The Warriors in Cuttack chose to defend after winning the toss at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. At the first turn, the Jaguars led 16-0 after getting out to a quick start.
The first inning saw the Rajasthan Warriors fail to register a dream run, as they battled to make an impression. The first inning saw the Odisha Jaguars maintain their strong play, scoring three dream runs, while the Warriors scored ten points in their offensive half. The current champs led 19–10 at the end of the first inning.
